100 Year, 100 Grand Program Impacts 10 Charities in MDU Resources Communities

Earlier this year MDU Resources announced as part of celebrating its 100th anniversary, the MDU Resources Foundation would donate $100,000 to charities in communities where the company operates. To broaden the impact, 10 charities would each receive a $10,000 donation. Employees with MDU Resources companies were invited to nominate their favorite charity to be considered for one of the grants.

The 10 nonprofits selected to receive a $10,000 grant are in five states and include:

Over the course of the summer, employees who nominated the charities presented the $10,000 gifts to the 10 selected charities.

“I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for MDU Resources, Cascade Natural Gas, and of course Ashley (Rutherford, Cascade Natural Gas Service Tech), for nominating Kitsap Humane Society to receive this most generous donation to support our mission,” said Kitsap Humane Society Executive Director Jamie Nocula. “The difference we are able to make in the lives of the animals that come to our shelter is greatly impacted by the support and advocacy of the community we serve.”

“I really enjoyed the opportunity that MDU Resources gave me by allowing me to present Lake Region Corp with a check for $10,000.00,” said Mark Wold, Montana-Dakota’s Area Represenative who nominated Lake Region Corp for the important childcare services they provide to the community. “That donation really will make a difference in the (Devils Lake) community, thank you MDU Resources.”

“What an amazing day!” said Shannon Okerson-Meyer, Montana-Dakota Utilities Credit Specialist and among the employees who nominated the Central Dakota Humane Society. “Thank you for letting me participate in the presentation and for selecting Central Dakota Human Society! What an incredible thing for MDU to do.”

MDU Resources Participates in 4th of July Parades

Montana-Dakota employees helped spread the word about the company’s 100th anniversary across the service area by participating in several community parades. Thanks to the volunteer drivers and walkers, along with those who went above and beyond to decorate the vehicles, Montana-Dakota had a great showing at the parades in Laurel and Hardin, MT, Dickinson, Mandan, and Watford City, ND, and Dayton and Sheridan, WY!
